Multinational remains positive about Chinese market

“We are quite positive about the Chinese market,” Lyu Yong, vice-president of the United States-based meat processors, OSI Group in China, said in an interview with State new agency China News Service during the 2018 CIFIT.

The 2018 CIFIT was held in Xiamen, Fujian province, from Sept 8 to 11.

With its headquarters in Aurora, Illinois, OSI Group is a privately owned holding company that serves the retail and food service industries. It has operated in China since 1991 with total investment of more than $1 billion.

“The Chinese government supports multinationals’ development in the country with determination and this made us more confident about the Chinese market,” Lyu said.

Lyu paid close attention to new moves Chinese government has made in the macro economy.

He said that quality outweighs scale in China now, which offers a guide to OSI’s further development in the country.

According to Lyu, OSI Group plans to increase its investment in China and focus on new forms of industry appearing there.

CIFIT takes place in Xiamen every September. Focusing on investment negotiations and investment policy promotion on a national and international scale, the fair also promotes the development of national and regional economies in China as well as economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait.
