The 2019 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) and the Belt and Road Investment Conference (BRIC) will focus on cooperation among countries along the Silk Road, according to a press conference held on Aug 22 in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province.

The 2019 CIFIT is set to take place in Xiamen, Fujian province, from Sept 8 to 11.

This year’s event will feature the Silk Road, with pavilions being set up to explore investment, industrial investment promotion and trade between countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The pavilion which focuses on trade between participating countries in the BRI will emphasize agricultural products and capital. An investment exhibition area for Silk Road countries will also be set up at the investment-themed pavilion.

The exhibition will feature a total of 6,000 booths on its 130,000-square-meter floor space and will welcome over 1,500 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and regions.

To date, roughly 600 delegations have confirmed their attendance, including the United Nations (UN) Conference on Trade and Development, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the ASEAN Secretariat. A further 3,000 companies, including over 100 multinational corporations and Fortune 500 firms, will attend the event.

The 2019 International Investment Forum, which is to be held concurrently with the 2019 CIFIT, will organize more than 10 forums focusing on Belt and Road cooperation. The main forum will explore new ways to enhance international cooperation and create a greener world.
